Please join our community tonight to discuss the City’s Housing and Economic Strategic Plan. You have seen in past weeks that the City Council is considering New Tax Credits for Housing Development in order to encourage new units to be built and to encourage the reinvestment in existing multifamily housing.
A few Ward One residents have mentioned that they have heard that tax incentives for ADUs are being proposed as part of these new credits. ADUs are not eligible for any of these incentives as they do not: 1. Add 10+ units, 2. Create a primary dwelling for Missing Middle, 3. Sit on deed-restricted properties, 4. Provide an opportunity for “substantial” investment to a multifamily building as defined by HUD.
